Soulful jazz cuts with the Cedar Walton Trio backing up Anna Maria Flechero’s smooth vocals. The trio is made up of Mr. Walton as their pianist, a bassist, and a drummer, and there’s also additional instrumentation including a fender Rhodes, synthesizer, saxophone, mini-moog, and some additional guitar, bass, and drums to add to the mix. Her album rifles through contemporary smooth jazz licks and while it may not be nearly as impressive as her musical footnote alongside a 12-piece Latin jazz band that played alongside Santana, it’s pretty impressive from this daughter of a choir leader.
