MGH - Little Bit Country

MGHLittle Bit Country Buy it at Amazon

Apple iTunes Buy it from InSound

Relocated to British Columbia, MGH set about to compose an album that would make acoustic instruments sound like they were from another planet. They succeeded at doing just that. What’s the MGH stand for you ask? Mothers Gaping Hole. Yeah, a bit sleazy I admit, but when you create an album this outright odd that gets shaken off easily. Their odd sense for instrumentation is apparent when you barely are able to discern such oddities as dulcimer (that’s how you spell it guys), saw, bugle, soda bottles, calculator, talking drum, and fretless bass. Weird and different but somehow quite likable, sort of their new country Canada.

What's Behind Mothers Gaping Hole?
Hey J-Cin,

Thanks for your positive review. We really appreciate it.

My bad for not including the idea behind the name. When we began this project in the early 90's, the christian right was on the rise, and advocating restrictions on contraception and civil rights. Things haven't changed much, except of the pedophile priests scandals.

As a couple of gay guys, we felt targeted and fired back. (See everything else at www.hc3music.com) We just hope that our messages are musical first and sound unlike everything else second.

Thanks again,

Plain Old Tom, MGH

Yeah I was wondering about that...
Makes perfect sense. Glad to see that you ripped the Christian right a new one (to construct another terrible pun, please go to www.smother.net) hahaha

Good message, even better music!
