MoShang — Chill Dynasty Buy it at Amazon
From all the way across the Pacific to Taiwan, MoShang has recorded a chill-out downtempo album that derives influence from his Chinese heritage surroundings. The production quality is top-notch. Laid back grooves and killer downtempo rhythms make for a good relaxed listen. There’s a lot of “found sounds” going on here with him sampling overheard conversations, funeral chants, street-ads from blue-trucks, and other odds and ends mixed with traditional Chinese instruments and modern electronica. Cool stuff.
