The Battle Royale is 75% comprised of band members still in high school. But these underage kids know how to party hard amid sweet melodic dance punk. Leaning heavily towards the glorious days of the ‘80s synth pop, The Battle Royale marks energetic and infectious grooves with danceable pop twists and “Oh Martha” may just be a total god-send. It’s only a matter of time as to how far out of their native Minneapolis they branch out of.
