The Conformists — Two Hundred Buy it at Amazon
Recorded by Shellac’s own Bob Weston, “Two Hundred” is an album that sounds like the b-sides from the recent Oxbow offering. The songs often feel almost off-kilter with sporadic time signatures that just don’t feel right. Vocally it’s very spoken word and then very screamy. Art rock is a mixed bag sometimes and you either like it, or throw it away. Spazz is much the same. The Conformists are both, somehow.
