Future of Forestry — Twilight Buy it at Amazon
Lifting their moniker from a C.S. Lewis poem about England overtaken by industrialization that the band took as an environmental warning, Future of Forestry write uplifting shoegazing melodic rock. Shocking you with fantastically spaced-out guitars ala U2, producer Ken Andrews (Pete Yorn, Mae, Failure) steers the listener through bright melodies that run with thick instrumentation and dangerously sweet crescendos. Huge vocals that could overrun any arena are but one feature that makes this group one that will overtake the underground and any mainstream listener that happens by. If “Twilight” is setting the bar for 2007, than it will be known as the year that Christian rock music changed for the better.
