Noise Ratchet — Noise Ratchet EP Buy it at Amazon
Noise Ratchet calls the beautiful and sunny San Diego, CA their homebase. After their much hallowed full-length “Till We Have Faces” that they released in early 2002, Noise Ratchet has signed on with American Recordings and toured with the likes of Dashboard Confessional, Piebald, and Hot Rod Circuit just to name a few. They present a total winner in this short six-song self-titled EP with a new acoustic version of their song “A Way to the Heart” from their first release. It results in dare I say a better version than the piano-laden original. Their unique brand of indie rock is the sonic equivalent of a manic-depressive in the middle of an attack. It just totally soars from ups to downs without blinking. I love how they augment with percussion often. Grab this album while you`re waiting for the next full length, which should be out in early 2004.
