Psychedelic folk in the vein of rustic Will Oldham and told through the mouth of Leonard Cohen, “Fortune & Folly” is by far an album that must be experienced. Birch Book offers seamless folk that transcends what you’d normally expect from a ‘lo-fi’ outfit. Atmospheric and almost downright spooky, its melancholy is rich while the harmonies are thick and juicy. Addictive.
