Motion City Soundtrack / Schatzi — Split CD Buy it at Amazon
With six new songs from two great indie rock bands, Redemption Records and Doghouse Records have another insta-hit on their hands. Motion City Soundtrack offers up the first three tracks with their unique approach to poppy indie rock with punk undertones. “Throw Down” is a party song with some very singable lyrics. Their “Capital H” invokes thoughts of The Anniversary with its synth poppiness and beautifully crafted songwriting. Schatzi amazes with the last three tracks. “Coreopsis” twiddles your hair and has some extremely powerful sonic guitarwork that doesn`t play around. Beautiful and almost atmospheric it doesn`t quit on you. “Arithmetic`s Collapse” and “Any Way You Want It” round out the last two tracks and remind us that Schatzi knows how to rock out with the best of them. “Any Way You Want It” sounds almost like The Police and could be the sole reason to purchase this album. Great music that you`re guaranteed to like.
