Casey Brandt — Dawn of the Godless Children, NYC Buy it at Amazon
Casey Brandt is the guy god known for his work with the Beer, the Croup, Satirius Johnson, and Furious Billy, releases his fifth solo release on Mungler Winslowe Records. His vocals swoon and crave some sort of satisfaction that only his loved ones could muster. His vocals are veining in desperation and melancholy with wretched heartache. Meanwhile his guitar shatters nerves with its plodding chord structures. The rest of the instrumentation is light and serves as a nice backdrop. A singer/songwriter who keeps himself incredibly busy and seems to have one of the thickest and richest songbooks out there, Casey Brandt once again turns in another gem of proto-punk, anti-folk, and lo-fi apartment rock.
