Tarantula A.D. is the result of smelting classical music with rock-n-roll. “Book of Sand” is a conceptual album about an empire and it’s rise and fall. Writing songs about such humanity must be tiresome but the songs aren’t a yawn whatsoever. With cello, percussion, piano, vocals, violin, glockenspiel, and melodica, Tarantula A.D. craft a haunting display of aggressive classically based music compositions that will stir you for an age.
