Hobex — Enlightened Soul Buy it at Amazon
Hailing from an unlucky neighborhood in North Carolina, this funk soul band Hobex sounds like it was just plucked from the depths of Motown. Jointy bass grooves are interlinked with soft high-pitched vocals and melodic organ. Topped off with jazz drumming and powerful soulful choruses, “Enlightened Soul” seems poised to make plenty of gains on the myriad of Hobex prior releases that have seen some limited success already.
