Tony Adamo is reviewed by soultracks.com
Soul Tracks reviews Soul Man Tony Adamo
www.myspace.com/tonyrocadamo

Sitting in the jazz café along with a few friends, sipping Chamomile tea, singer/visual artist Tony Adamo enters the stage offering us a sweet deal. He is offering his latest
14-track fusion CD, Straight Up Deal. What is his recipe? Add a taste of Michael Beck, sample some Santana, throw in the sentiment of Miles Davis, the style of Grover Washington, Jr. and the Lou Rawls-like vibrato of Tony Adamo. There you have it: an eclectic, high energy project of jazz, R&B, soul and funk.

He allowed us a taste of his dish with an introduction of a few of his powerful featured guest artists, such as Doc Kupka (Tower Of Power) and Ernie Watts on sax, Eddie Henderson on trumpet and Paul Jackson on bass guitar. The appetizer, "No Strings," displayed his funky, jazz side. The main course was assorted with several classic remakes: "Winelight" (instrumental piece made famous by Grover Washington); Miles Davis' "Milestones" and Joe Zawinul's "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy." With such a passionate band and Tony's funky, R&B voice we were begging for more. He quenched our thirst with "Midnite Café."

As he closed, he offered us another deal - dessert- with complimentary copies of his latest project. As a singer, but also, a visual artist, he took personal interest in the creativity of his CD packaging. It was stylishly designed, with a nice headshot on the cover and the Northern California Bay Area city nightlife as the backdrop on the back. Tony Adamo, and his band reflects that real musicians are here to stay, still offering talent and stellar performances.

This CD is a Straight Up Deal. Recommended by soultracks.com

Peasants With Feathers celebrates Otto Von Schirach's Birthday
Last night, I, the Voodoo Witch Doctor celebrated the illustrious Otto Von Schirach's birthday bash at the Laundry Bar on Miami Beach owned by our good friend, Basshead Juan. We hung outside until the full moon caused our alter egos, the Germanian Nerds. We had two extra sidekicks, the Notorious Nasty in his cockroach suit and Thug Jesus in his pimp attire and neon red umbrella tagging along. The crowd broke out in a frenzy of dancing around like chickens with their heads cut off. They formed a mosh pit that could have paralyzed the most cracked out snake. In the insuing commotion Mister Feather's bear slippers to slipped off his feet and an eager fan threw it back and it landed on Otto Von Schirach's laptop. Luckily, the slippers were not made of glass like Cinderella's and nothing happened. Lots of people took pictures and our friend Edit from California shooked up the crowd with his massive beats. Thank you all for being there and we appreciate your support!

New Found Glory- New Best of CD titled HITS
UMe is proud to announce the release of New Found Glory’s best-of CD, Hits, which is available March 18th!!!

Angst fueled by hooky guitar riffs and old-school hardcore breakdowns. Defiant, yet upbeat. One of the first bands to fuse emo and punk-pop, add a tinge of hardcore, and bring it to the mainstream, New Found Glory has sold nearly 3-million albums while delivering the quintessential rock sound of the 2000s--melodic, fun, and personable. Countless gold- and platinum-selling bands have credited New Found Glory for being the inspiration that sparked their own formation. Now, for the first time, all of the band’s best-loved singles and album cuts have been brought together for Hits. (DriveThru/Suretone/MCA/Geffen/UMe), released March 18, 2008.

Hits also includes a couple of rare gems--“Constant Static,” previously available only as a Japanese album bonus cut, and “Situations” (streamed on the Warped Tour Website for only one month and never before commercially available). All of the tracks were personally selected by the band members.
Founded as A New Found Glory (the “A” was later dropped), the group formed in Coral Springs, Florida, in 1997. After an indie EP and debut album, Nothing Gold Can Stay, singer Jordan Pundik, lead guitarist Chad Gilbert (formerly of hardcore band Shai Hulud), guitarist Steve Klein, bassist Ian Grushka and drummer Cyrus Bolooki made their major label debut with 2000’s self-titled album. Including the Top 20 Modern Rock hit “Hit or Miss” as well as “Dressed To Kill,” the album was boosted by a tour with Blink-182, sold-out headlining tours, and a spot on the Warped Tour, and eventually was certified gold.
New Found Glory’s most recent album, the movie covers project From The Screen To Your Stereo Part II, was released in September 2007, and a new album is expected in summer 2008.

Gloria Diaboli set to release new black metal album
Battle Kommand Records is proud to announce our next CD release, the debut album from Canada's GLORIA DIABOLI, entitled Gate To Sheol.

This band is the North American answer to true Satanic black metal acts such as Watain, Ofermod, Funeral Mist, etc. The band performs a martial, orthodox form of black metal, fueled by ferocity and hellfire. Aggressive, ugly and well-recorded, this attack will yet again prove that Canada's ever-extreme Vancouver, BC-area black metal scene has spawned some of the ugliest metal of our time, and alongside countrymen BLASPHEMY, AXIS OF ADVANCE, WITCHES HAMMER, ALLFATHER, CONQUEROR and REVENGE, Gloria Diaboli are now leaving their mark on this important regions history of violent and chaotic metal.

Gate To Sheol was mastered @ Necromorbus Studio in Sweden (Watain, Malign, Averse Sefira, Ofermod, etc).

Gate To Sheol features 7 tracks.
1. The Kingdom of Filth And Decay
2. Above As It Is Below
3. Gloria Diaboli
4. Gate To Sheol
5. Libation Unto He who Dwelleth in the Depths
6. Omega Throne
7. Oh, Great Deceiver

The Real Tale Behind The Fairy Tale-"Picture Dr. Seuss meets Sex in the City" and you've got a taste of this flavorful One Woman Show. Written in complete spoken word and music, The Real Tale Behind the Fairy Tale puts a new, modern-day spin on the classic fairy tales we know and love from our childhood. Featuring nine different female characters, this tale no longer speaks of "happily ever after" but rather the true side of their stories. They are grown-up, liberated women who finally have been given the chance to speak out. And what they have to say is shocking! No children to entertain, no men to please, no rating system to filter their words. No expectations... just the unadulterated truth.

You are invited into a world beyond fairy tales. An intimate setting where Cinderella finally speaks out about her marriage with the prince. Little Red Riding Hood reveals why she always wears her "red hood", and Belle shares her recipe for "taming the beast". Come visit Alice as she finally tells her twisted version of what really happened... you'll be surprised to find out that Wonderland is not so innocent after all. It's shocking yet whimsical. Familiar yet totally unexpected. Heart wrenching yet life affirming. Fairy tales like you've never heard before...

Erin Jividen (also known as EJ) has been writing and performing music for more that 8 years. She has a bachelor of arts degree from Hunter College where she majored in Theater and Music. During this time, EJ began performing all over NYC and even traveled down to Miami, Richmond and Philadelphia with a group of budding young artists. She was a regular in the New York music scene and was often spotted performing at the most famous venues including: The Bitterend, Webster Hall, The Living Room and The Elbow Room. She recorded her first solo record "Another Insufficient Fare" in a tiny studio in upstate New York.

Immediately after school, EJ began working with Sony Music and spent over a year recording her 2nd album under careful watch of a creative team at Sony. Eventually she went on to make her third record with Michael Blum, where she spent 2 months in Los Angeles recording "Mermaid Songs". Most recently, EJ was signed to BonGiovi Entertainment Records, where she recorded in Pompano, Florida with the noted music producer, Tony BonGiovi.

Since her last CD, "Stuck in Traffic", EJ somehow found her way back into the theater world and wrote her first full length rock musical, "Skye Is Falling". She has continued to write and is currently working on a book, another new play and music for her next album. She has been featured many times in some of New York's most infamous gossip columns like: Cindy Adams, Rush and Molloy and gawker.com. She has shared her talent across the seas, where she performed a sold out concert at The Naval and Military Club in London and become the ambassador of a charity for the blind.

"Discrete Encounter creates crisp, chic electronic music, merging glam rock with electronica in a serious and sexy direction that picks up where electroclash's ironic 80's stunts paused the genre a couple of years ago. Discrete Encounter maintains the technoid melodiousness of groups like Lamb and Olive while releasing the sweaty, kinetic, rock n' roll energy of other rockers like the YeahYeahYeah's and The White Stripes. Intriguing, subtle, yet entirely accessible, Discrete Encounter sounds like everything the right downtown night is all about." Etomie Entertainment

Discrete Encounter was formed in 2003 by composer/producer Taras Mashtalir and singer/songwriter Natasha Romanova.

Taras Mashtalir is a classical guitarist turned electronic producer who began professional recording and performing in Moscow and St. Petersburg before moving to NYC. His work also includes audio installations and sountracks for independent films and animation.

Natasha Romanova is a trained vocalist with a degree in classical music. Prior to the US, she performed in Ukraine and Russia on national radio and TV. Besides writing lyrics for Discrete Encounter, she is a prolific published writer of poetry and prose.

Discrete Encounter also include Visual Projectionist, Stas, who brings an extra dimension to their live show.

The band has been collaborating with different DJs including Roman S, Animaltek and now their current addition DJ Plexus.
