It can’t get more ridiculous than this. There was a (somewhat) organized snowball fight at the corner of 14th and U Streets, and some poor ultra-egotistical cops car got hit by a snowball. Did he overreact? Naaaahhhh. Pulling a gun out and saying you’re going to send a bunch of people to jail isn’t an overreaction.
Here’s to hoping a bunch of these people sue the pants off the DC police force; cops need to realize that carrying a lethal weapon is a privilege that needs to come with high degrees of discipline even when their feelings get hurt. More inexplicable is the second cop in the video who shows up with his weapon unholstered. Snowballs man. Snowballs. Merry X-mas indeed.
Local news outlet, WJLA is covering the story and I’m sure this will make national headlines soon enough. This cop should be fired, fined, and sentenced to some sort of counseling plus have at least two years of probation. If I was the Chief of Police, I’d put his ass behind the desk for the rest of his career.
