Transmission0

Transmission0

Harsh gutwrenching assaults on the ear was the job description. Transmission0 showed up to the job interview with a jackhammer, a sledge hammer, nailguns, and a fierce bit of chaw lodged in their jaw. Chaotic sludge metal that is so heavy, it registers on the Richter Scale. As a Dutch experimental metal band, Transmission0 seems intent on proving that heavy doesn't have to be defined by one element or the other but rather by the whole. Similar in vein to that of Neurosis and Isis, Transmission0 morphs what many metal critics have come to expect from comparisons to those often namedropped groups into something organic, sinister, and bludgeoning. It's fierce yet sublime underneath all the sewage of sonic abrasions and wildly creative. On their latest endeavor, "Memory of a Dream", Steve Austin (Today is the Day) guests and helps craft the perfect tempo of this dazzling album. Spinning soundscapes that escape the typical mental trappings, Transmission0 has the chops and knows how to slice and dice.
