Smother Magazine Band Spotlight: The Sound of Animals Fighting

The Sound of Animals Fighting
Art rock just got a little more chaotic. The Sound of Animals Fighting go by animal name monikers and have been seen to wear masks of their forest creature brethren. But it's not a silly sound. In fact, the band traversing progressive rock's sweeping journeys through major sounds into territories that are usually reserved for big name acts and their one experimental album that critics love but fans pass over. Experimental music often delves down into the deepest recesses of musical caricatures to bend sound into a prism of delightful oddities that even the worst musical cynic can't pass up. That's the realm of The Sound of Animals Fighting. It bounces from prog-rock to artful noise to soaring operatic overtures. Cerebral rock fans will all agree that this band is, while difficult to pinpoint, fully engaging and enjoyable.
