Smother Magazine Band Spotlight: Socratic

With biting lyrics and a terrific grasp on melody, Socratic is a band that's not afraid to make fun of screamo bands and do it with aggressive indie pop hooks that will have the emo kids clutching their tattered sweaters even tighter. Their music sways from symphonic to rock opera to the best impression of Piebald's more pop moments that one will ever hear. Lyrically even when it's not lambasting they know how to shine. Socratic has a bevy of catchy pop hooks that are at their disposal and they're not afraid to utilize them throughout their album. The band continously showcases their talent and excellent dynamics promising to be one of the best up-and-coming bands in indie rock.
