Smother Magazine Band Spotlight: Mew

Danish modern rock outfit Mew has been slowly steamrolling up the veins of America's music scene. Combining their witty and cerebral lyrics with undeniable melodies and harmony, Mew has managed to forge one of the most truly unique sounds to strike in years. Vocally it's delicate, branding your ears with some of the most deliciously layered vocals this side of Bjork. Sonically creative Mew feasts of dissonance while crafting soundscapes that leave you haunted. Forming through meeting during school while filming a short film about the destruction of nature, Mew breeds an awe-inspiring sonic mastery that will have you stricken with a new modern Muse.
