Smother Magazine Band Spotlight: Atreyu

Formed in 2002 in Orange Country, Atreyu quickly climbed the ranks of the hardcore-metalcore stew armed with their Victory Records debut "Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses". Certainly this five-piece have re-written all the rules of heavy rock/metal realm scattering the torn pages to the chaos that's resulted. It seems as if with each release they jump through the skylights to reach an entirely new level that was seemingly unreachable before--and they only have two releases under their belt.
With tremendous tours such as Ozzfest at their disposal, they've steamrolled through the scene picking up fans like drunk girls at a frat party. Always intriguing both lyrically and in their song structures, Atreyu is destined to achieve greatness in the finnicky world of hardcore music.
