Smother Magazine Band Spotlight: Silent Drive

With members from Drowningman and Bane, Silent Drive is a difficult band to pin any sort of label on. At times pop-punk, sometimes screeching hardcore, but always driving rock, Silent Drive is anything but strictly definable. Easily a force to be reckoned with in the hardcore and punk scenes, one can imagine that the sound present on their Equal Vision debut "Love Is Worth It" will have
other bands attempting to copy it. Melodic singing that's complemented with catchy hooks that spin wildly into angry thunderous screams are but one recipe in the mad stew that is Silent Drive. Hailing from their hometown of Worcester, Massachusetts--a scene that's as alive as any--Silent Drive surround themselves with great in-depth lyrics, soulful singing that's straight from the heart, and
complete and utter punk rock attitude. If this is the future of rock than we had all be buckling our seatbelts.
