Smother Magazine Band Spotlight: Statistics

Statistics might have been your least favorite class but it's guaranteed to be one of your all-time favorite bands. Wailing guitars and a use of distortion not heard since Sonic Youth's hey-day, Statistics conjure up possible comparisons to Hum or the spacey rock of Cave In but in reality
Statistics not only dare to be different--they are. While just the work of one genius--Denver Dalley--the overall sound is monstrous, never begging to be heard but rather demanding it. Combining piano and keyboards with crunchy almost-The-Edge-like arena rock guitars for a juxtaposed soundscape, Statistics are one of the most exciting modern emotional rock acts out there.
