Peter Tagtgren formed Hypocrisy in 1987. Tagtgren wrote, recorded and performed an entire demo by himself that landed him a deal with Nuclear Blast. He hooked up with drummer Lars Szoke, vocalist Masse Broberg, guitarist Jonas Osterberg and bassist Mikael Hedlund and they released the debut album, "Penetralia". Hypocrisy's second album, "Osculum Obscenum", saw them begin to tour. Having lost Osterberg and Broberg, they continued released "Inferior Devoties" and "The Fourth Dimension" and Peter took over the microphone. This was the Hypocrisy line-up that would carry on into their newest self-titled release. 1995 almost saw the demise of Hypocrisy. Peter was busy with Abyss Studios, his side project (Pain), and a new baby. With this in mind, they released 1997's aptly titled "The Final Chapter." However, through overwhelming response from the fans and journalists, Hypocrisy decided that quitting would be a mistake. Now, with the release of their new self-titled album and the possibility of American tours on the horizon, they stand poised to take the Death Metal world by storm.
