The hippest of hippie band names, Violet Vector and the Lovely Lovelies is actually quite a fun psychedelic pop-rock outfit that marries funky bass and psychedelic guitar fuzz with female mewing and charming percussion. Sunny dispositions that translate nicely to the songwriting curve, “EP II” will surprise you almost more that this is merely the band’s second offering (it’s so damn polished and cute) as it will in its underlying scope and finish. You can peel all the layers of veneer off and cast it aside but you’re still left with a quite astutely finished product of pure creativity…and you know love and those other gooey things hippies chortle. Listen to an MP3 of “Grass Is Glowing”.
